October, 1997 - Esther Bunny
Yeah, it's a bunny!! This month fuzzydog steps into new territory, awarding it's Pet of the Month to Esther, who (if you haven't noticed) is not a dog. Why did we pick Esther? Well, take a read at these observations from her "Daybook":
"August 3, 1997
"To improve my mental skills, I jot down interesting observations. Here are a few I think are worth sharing:
1. Humans spend more time than any
other species doing things that make no sense. The rest of us are focused
on the important things in life - eating, sleeping, mating, playing. Still,
humans seem to think WE act strange.
2. Cats bathe just like rabbits do. Unfortunately, they don't seem to have
any other traits in common with us.
3. Dogs are much more human-like than rabbit-like. This may explain why
so many people seem to prefer their company to the (obviously superior)
company of rabbits.
4. Humans look very awkward when they try to get down on all fours. But
they're a lot more fun to play with when they do.
I hope these observations are helpful."
Perceptive, isn't she? Check out Esther's All-Animal Page for more of this bunny's Daybook insights. It's updated almost daily and will definitely bring a smile or two to your face.
Update 11/1/97: We just learned that Esther bunny passed away on October 20, 1997. The loss of a friend is always a sad occasion, and we can only imagine the hole she leaves in the lives of those she's left behind. For our part, we just want to say "thank you, Esther," for the laughs, and for letting us get to know you just a bit better...
