December, 1997 - Flint

March 25, 1990 - November 11, 1997

"Flint was the sunshine in my life and the stars that twinkled beside me as I typed at night. To him I say, 'You loved me unconditionally. You gave so much and asked for so little. I love you.' "

This November 11th, one of our Coolpets, Flint, left us after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.  Already one of our top vote getters at that point (along with his housemate Fiji), we then got a flood of emails expressing both regret and admiration for Flint, his site, and his owners.  A quote from one of the emails we received:

"In simple terms, Flint and his corresponding pages are very nice in ambiance, accreditation, and truth. His pages do more than serve as a memorial to this wonderful dog; they bring to the internet world a taste of what this world could be like: love, caring, fun and a lot less of what we see on the evening news.

We humans are bombarded daily with the pressures, indeed, the inhumanity, of our society. Jobs are lost, people are living in the streets, spouses suffer incurable travesties of domestic violence, and wars continue to plague this earth. Yet, for an instant, we are able to revel in the almost difficult to grasp pleasure of peace and true love...in the eyes of an animal who depends and requests only for the return of that love. That's all. Hardly anything else.

A vote for Flint tonight is not just because he's the prettiest dog (he is),or that his page is a wonderful sight and site (it is), or that he is adored by all who has had the pleasure of meeting and loving him (they do). A vote for Flint tonight is, for me, a vote for what is right in this world. Often, what is right is not so far away from what is wrong. And doing what is right is the only thing that keeps us a civilized society: simply, the people we want to be. Go, Flint! "Walkies" in peace."

Okay, then.  Go, Flint!  Visit Flint's website today, and get a taste of what this world could be like...
