Uhhh-kay...

In Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, Mira Sorvino (Romy) and Lisa Kudrow (Michele) star as two ditzy gals living an oblivious life in L.A.  Best friends since High School, Romy and Michele have their fun watching reruns of Pretty Woman, club-hopping, and...uh...just being themselves!  Well, nearly ten years have passed since High School when, quite unexpectedly, R&M learn of an upcoming reunion back in their hometown of Tucson.  "I really want to go."  "So do I!"

But as Romy and Michele fill out the dreaded "What Have You Been Doing Since High School" form, they begin to have second thoughts.  Romy, the cashier at the local Jaguar dealer; Michele, who doesn't even have a job--gee, they think to themselves, maybe our lives aren't so great after all...

And so begins Romy and Michele's big adventure, as they try to transform themselves into successful, desirable, and engaging women of the nineties.  Flashback to the 80's, forward to the 90's, then back all over again, each time with a look at friendship, love, and life accompanied by lots of 80's MTV classics, outrageous costumes, and hilarious performances by Kudrow (who basically keeps her Friends' persona), Sorvino (who's never sounded as ditzy as this), and Janeane Garofalo (salty as ever!!).

Yes, Romy and Michele's... is a strange mix in more ways than one.  With over-the-top comedy tempered by teenage angst, and idiotic dialog delivered with profound sincerity, it's one of those comedies that really makes you wonder: "am I laughing because this movie is good, or am I laughing because it's s-o-o-o-o bad?"  I went back and forth on this one, and then finally came to a great Romy and Michele conclusion: who cares?  As long as you're laughing, then (good or bad) isn't it ok?
