Okay, it's one year later and college student Julie James (Jennifer Love Hewitt) is still traumatized by the death of most of her friends at the hands of a hook-handed slasher.  Haunted by nightmares and unable to get her life back on track, Julie finally finds something to smile about when her roommate Karla (Brandy) wins an all-expense paid trip to the Bahamas.  Together with Karla's boyfriend Tyrell (Mekhi Phifer) and Julie's affectionate classmate Will (Matthew Settle), the four head off to the island of Tower Bay for a nice, relaxing weekend on the islands...

The sequel to last year's I Know What You Did Last Summer, I Still Know is what you'd call your stereotypical slasher flick.  When the four friends reach Tower Bay, they quickly learn that there's just a small "off-season staff" of five on the resort, that a major storm is about to hit, and that there really won't be a way on or off the island for a few days.  In other words, they're more or less trapped.  Then, one by one, the killings start.  First the dock hand, then the pool guy, then the hotel manager, and so on and so on...

If this is all you really hoped for from I Still Know, then I suppose you won't have much to complain about.  As horror flicks go, this film is unfortunately at just about the level that I have grown accustomed to expect.  It's actually too bad, as it is now clear to me that a horror movie with the originality and creativity of Scream may not come out of Hollywood anytime soon.  Though both Hewitt and I Know veteran Freddi Prinze, Jr. both do a nice job in their roles, the reality is that there really isn't much "role" for them (or anyone) to play in this film.  It's slash and run, crash and run, and not much else on the little island of Tower Bay.  And, as is a requisite requirement for this kind of film, it looks like the hook-handed killer just won't die. 

Geez, I wonder what's in store for Julie next summer...

David gives this movie  stars: "I STILL KNOW.." ....ooohhhh creepy. Expecting a great sequel like Scream 2 did to Scream, this was rather a disappointing sequel, but nevertheless a good movie. Comparisons I guess should not influence the rating. Okay. I enjoyed it. I think horror has two sides : ONE - horror that's gory and scary and incredibly spooky. TWO - Horror that's somewhat spooky, a tad blood, but more on the lighter side. This is number TWO. The atmosphere of an isolated island was good and creepy, yet not scary. None of the kills were really any good but it worked on the main characters frienships/relationships. Love was goodbut not much of a role to play, Brandy did not live up to Sarah Michelle's part in the first but provided some light humour, and the boys characters and acting was none less than shocking. It was quite predictable and I don't like the idea of knowing the killer who isn't that scary anyway. The ending was pointless and left everyone in the audience going "Oh, how rediculous". All in all, it is a fun movie and a good outing and it's not a bad film, but it could have progressed a little more." (12/1/98)

The sets looked great, the rain and hailing winds were creepy, but the film was left with absolutely no plot. And I mean, NO plot.
