Studio Synopsis: Gone in 60 Seconds is about automobile aficionado Randall "Memphis" Raines (Nicolas Cage), a car thief of legendary proportion. No fancy lock or alarm could stop him; your car would be there, and then suddenly gone in 60 seconds. For years, Memphis eluded the law while boosting every make and model imaginable. When the heat became too intense, he abandoned his life of crime and left everything and everyone he loved to find a different life. Now, when his kid brother (Giovanni Ribisi) tries to follow in his footsteps, only to become dangerously embroiled in a high stakes caper, Memphis is sucked back into his old ways-in order to save his brother's life.

Fuzzydog Review: Short on character development, short on plot and short on originality, Gone In 60 Seconds is a bearable movie due only to three things: the cars, the cars...and the cars.  Cars getting stolen, cars getting smashed, cars being chased, cars flying through the air...that's what this Bruckheimer-produced action-fest is about.  Cage manages nicely in his role as master car thief, though his partners in crime (including Angelina Jolie, Robert Duvall and Giovanni Ribisi) don't fare as well, none of them having much to speak of in the way of roles.  There's no two ways about it, this film is a cliche.  But if you're up for a low brainpower, high volume smash-and-crash kind of rides, then Gone in 60 Seconds may just fit your bill.
