CHICKEN RUN (G)

Studio Synopsis: Chicken Run is the first full-length feature film from Aardman Studios, home of the Oscar-winning Wallace and Gromit series. Co-directed by pioneering animators Peter Lord and Nick Park and starring the voices of Mel Gibson and Miranda Richardson, Chicken Run follows the story of a group of chickens determined to fly the coop for good! Led by the rough-and-ready newcomer Rocky (Gibson), the chickens of Coop 17 hatch an elaborate plot to escape from the clutches of the menacing Mrs. Tweedy (Richardson) before she serves them up as pies.
Fuzzydog Review: Cute, warm, funny, and amazingly creative, Chicken Run is the kind of quirky animated film that will definitely please both children and adults. Those of you familiar with Nick Park's work in the Wallace and Gromit series will know the kind of odd humor Park typically presents, and if you like Wallace and Gromit, you should like Chicken Run too. The story, about a renegade group of chickens plotting to escape from a chicken farm, is easy enough to grasp. In the hands of Nick Park, however, the entire ordeal turns into a wacky, screwy zigzag of drama and comedy that easily charms and amuses. There's no two ways about it, this guy's brilliant!!
Bottom line: between the great one-liners, the slapstick comedy, and all those loveable chickens, Chicken Run comes in as a real winner. See it!
