Fuzzydog Review: Billy Crystal.  Julia Roberts.  Catherine Zeta-Jones.  John Cusack.  Hank Azaria.  With a cast like that, you'd think a romantic comedy would be a sure bet to be funny, charming, and a hands-down crowd-pleaser.  Well, maybe and maybe not.  Directed by Joe Roth, America's Sweethearts does have its share of funny lines, touching moments, and the occasional side-splitting slapstick sequences.  However, as romantic comedies go, this isn't anywhere near many other contemporary films in terms of both charm, humor, and long term memorability.  As harmlessly amusing as America's Sweethearts is, it only made me think about how much better movies like When Harry Met Sally, Bridget Jones' Diary, and even Notting Hill are in comparison.  Roberts, Zeta-Jones, Cusack and Crystal just never get to shine the way we know they truly can, leading to a truly average romantic comedy populated by a clearly above-average cast.
